ASSOCIATE ARTIST- KING'S HEAD THEATRE

Shelley Lang is a Scottish and Australian actress based in London and Glasgow. Born and raised in Blantyre, Strathclyde, she emigrated with her family to Perth, Australia aged 10. 14 years later she returned to the UK to attend The Poor School in London. In 2009 she played her first role at The Cock Tavern Theatre with Good Night Out Presents in the role of Becky in the UK Revival of Nick Ward's THE PRESENT- the success of which allowed the company to go on to win the Peter Brook "Empty Space" Award. In 2010 GNOP took over the artistic direction of The King's Head Theatre, becoming one of the only Off-West End full-time producing houses in London and winning The Laurence Olivier Award in 2010 for Best New Opera La Bohème.

Shelley became an Associate Artist of The Kings Head Theatre through her consistent work with the company, one of which was the London Premiere of Arnold Wesker's DENIAL- a huge critical success. She recently played La Corbie in the first ever English production of Liz Lochhead's MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS GOT HER HEAD CHOPPED OFF working with Olivier Award-winning director Robin Norton-Hale and can currently be seen in the World Premiere of Rattigan and Gieldgud's A TALE OF TWO CITIES in the roles of Madame Defarge, Edward Stryver and numerous other Dickensian comedy roles- featured in BBC London News.

Shelley's film and TV work has notably included Chris Nolan's INCEPTION and the ongoing role of Daniella Hendry in BBC Scotland's RIVER CITY.
